.The Role
As a Analyst, Accounting, you will be responsible for activities associated with the financial close and external financial reporting. You may provide technical accounting research and expertise while implementing and analyzing accounting policies to support the Lincoln Financial Groups goals and strategic objectives. This role could position you for a management role in the near future along with ownership of a close process.
Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Reporting
:Prepare and/or review external financial statements and supplemental filings.
:Facilitate and complete monthly and/or quarterly accounting close processes, including preparation of journal entries.
:Research complex technical accounting and reporting matters as they arise, and document conclusions reached in accordance with relevant accounting literature.
:Prepare and/or review various industry surveys.
Monitoring and Analysis
:Analyze financial statements to understand trends in the business and ensure the accuracy of reported results, and communicate analysis effectively to key stakeholders.
:Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
:Document execution of internal controls, and assist with design of key controls as needed.
Decision:making, Strategy, and Management Accounting
:Lead process improvements.
:Design and lead special projects, such as to support new accounting principle implementation.
:Provide ongoing support for partners across the organization for accounting and reporting needs.
Education
:Undergraduate degree or 4+years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in Accounting or relevant field is required.
:Current CPA or close to obtaining CPA licensure strongly preferred.
:Masters degree in accounting or MBA preferred.
Experience
:3:5+ years of experience that directly aligns with specific responsibilities of position, preferably performing external audits at a large public accounting firm and/or an accounting role with a public company.
:Experience and/or proficiency with Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft general ledger preferred.
:Ability to prioritize and manage workload as necessary to meet deadlines.
:Strong attention to detail with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
